Oh yes, the day is finally here! We flew into Hohhot after a full day in Beijing, landing about 9:30. We got our bags, met our guide Sandra, and took a 30 minute bus ride to a super fancy Sheraton hotel. Isaac was waiting for us with a nice lady from his orphanage. It was a little unnerving, to be honest. We were all pretty wiped out, but as you can see from the pictures, it was all smiles!
Josie was WONDERFUL as our interpreter. She and Isaac are able to understand each other very well. We hung out in the boy’s room for a while. We unloaded all the clothes and gifts that we brought for Isaac, we gathered in a circle to thank God for Isaac joining Team Sublett, and the the girls headed back across the hallway to their room. After a couple of hiccups (Annabelle locked them out of their room!) Isaac got a shower and dressed in his pajamas. Of course, the girls all wanted to say goodnight. Levi grabbed a quick (not) shower, then I tucked them into bed.
We started some of the Chinese adoption paperwork tonight, and have a meeting tomorrow morning to make it all official. The adoption officials will be here in the hotel tomorrow morning to meet with us and we’ll work on some more paperwork.
I’ll post some more of the story and pictures tomorrow, but for now, I’m going to close up shop and head to bed. It’s almost 1am. Our friends and family in the states are just about done with church, and we’re bushed. We’ll all sleep well tonight…with Isaac safely snuggled in with Levi!

Stac,
If I could love this post, especially the picture of the Sublett kids, 100 times, I would.
I still remember Annabelle asking us when she would be able to visit China. And when you and Kim told her, at least 5 years, she looked so sad. God is provision infinitely greater than any of our wildest dreams. I’m so happy that you’re able to share this experience together.
Can’t wait to meet Isaac AND Charlie!
Love,
Chinese big sister 🙂

Stac and Kim:
I am so excited for your family. I was so touched when I read about Josie being the interpreter – God knew all along and has been preparing your family for Issac through the adoption of Josie. How awesome! Congratulations!
