Wowsers, are we tired!  Today was a full day of cultural awareness, aka sightseeing.  From the Tiananmen Square to the Forbidden City to the Summer Palace to the Acrobatics show, with a couple of stops for meals, the Pearl Market and the Silk Market…More than once we looked around the bus to find most of the members of Team Sublett conked out in their seats!

We have the same guide (Sherry) as last time, and we’re visiting the same locations, but this time Kim and I are experiencing things through the eyes of our children.  Beijing is an old city, with thousands of years of history.  We’ve made some new friends on this trip, and we’re having fun learning their stories and sharing ours.  We were a little concerned about keeping track of all the young’ns as we walked among the 170,000 visitors to the Forbidden City today, but a few well placed panda hats took care of that.  There’a picture of us doing a little family devotion at the Summer Palace down below.  Kim and the little girls passed on the acrobatics show tonight, opting to hit the swimming pool.  I took Levi, Josie, and Lilly to see the acrobats at the end of the long day.  They LOVED it!

We will go to church tomorrow (an English speaking service) before lunch, a visit to the Great Wall, and the jade market.  Then Team Sublett will board a flight to Inner Mongolia.  I think we’ll meet Isaac tomorrow night!  I hope that we’re somewhat coherent for the first meeting…Everybody is pretty wiped out.

Forgot to tell you, make sure you have swimming caps for Hohhot. They will not let you near the pool without one.
