We boarded the great silver bird and headed south, back to our old stomping grounds in Guangzhou.  Kim and I have been telling our kids all about this place, showing them the pictures from our last trip here (Annabelle’s adoption in 2010).  We enjoyed our stay in Hohhot, but this feels a little more comfortable, since we’ve already been here.  We have the same guide as before, and Amy really takes care of those of us in her charge.

All the families (5 of us) are tucked into our rooms in the China Hotel.  4 of us arrived together, and the 5th showed up about 10pm.  The 4 of us ate at one of the restaurants in the hotel tonight.  Annabelle and Sadie ordered the big slippery noodles that made us laugh so hard last time.  I took a picture for the Roux fam–we miss you guys!

After supper, Kim and Lilly headed upstairs (after some McD’s ice cream, of course) while I took the rest of Team Sublett for a walk in the park with the Dixon family.  We got to play on some of the exercise equipment.  Even though it was dark, there were lots of people out getting some exercise.  We topped off the night with a stop at  McD’s (natch) before calling it a night.

There’s lots of deep breathing coming from the bedroom.  I guess we’re all a little tired tonight.  It’s going to be a short week, with lots of appointments to get ready for our return flights to the US.  Some of the families will leave before us.  We have to stay a day longer because Isaac is the only adoptee older than 2!  I hope that we’ll have some free time during the week to get to the parks.  It’s a balmy 80 degrees here in Guangzhou, and we’re looking forward to playing in the nice weather.

I wondered if those noodles would make another appearance! I somehow remember them as even bigger…maybe they have grown in my imagination. I love Sadie’s look of awe/horror and Levi looks impressed with your mad chopstick skills. We wish we could come for dinner tonight! I remember they had some amazing fried rice with shrimp and other deliciousness. And the company would be fantastic! Have fun!

First of all, congratulations on your adoption. It is such a small world…you will never believe this, but here goes…Our son, Garrett, is also from Inner Mongolia, and I am trying desperately to reach Pamela McKlveen who has been making comments here on your blog. I found your blog through God’s divine plan in trying to find a way to reach her! I so hope and pray that she reads this! Her son, Liam, and my son, Garrett, lived with the same foster family in Inner Mongolia. Long story…I don’t even think she knows this…BUT the foster family and I keep in touch via email. They sent me an email saying that they want to try to get in contact with LiSheng’s family to find out how he is doing. They sent me his name, when he left their home, some very CUTE pictures of him with the foster family. So I have been trying to find his adoptive family. I actually found them and their names by seeing a youtube video of their journey to Liam. I know this is the same child! I can tell by the pictures of him. And you cannot miss that beautiful smile of his. This foster family is wonderful!!! They loved our children like they were their own. And they think of them always. Please Pamela, contact me AUMaddie@aol.com
!!! I know you will want this information. I cannot believe I have found you!!! And this wonderful family is obviously in China as we speak on their adotion journey. How cool is that?
