her two good ears, her two good ears…yeah, it’s not as catchy as the original, I know.

We’re in Danville (Geisinger/Janet Weis Children’s Hospital) for Josie’s third ear surgery since April 15.  Tax day=ear surgery.  Thanksgiving=ear surgery.  Christmas=ear surgery.  What can I say; the girl knows how to party like a rock star!

The doc set aside the whole day to work on both ears, but told us this morning that she’s optimistic that it won’t take all day.  In fact, Josie could be in the recovery room in a couple of hours if things proceed like we hope.  She’ll likely be getting a tube in her left ear and a prosthesis in her right ear.  I’m still amazed that they can manufacture tiny little bones, plug ’em in the right spots, and get sound to transmit.

I’ll try to update via twitter and facebook, but right now I’m going to join my wife.  I got about 2 hours of sleep last night, and my eyelids are winning the war.  catch you later…

I found this interesting video about ear implants and how it affects the person’s perception of music. I’m not sure if this is exactly the same thing Josie is getting, but I thought it was an interesting video nonetheless!
