Whew, what a day! We started off with a little Skype action. It was great to see and talk to our kids and Delm, even if the dang dog ran away during the call! After the video chat and a quick shower and breakfast, we were back on the bus.
Our group went to church this morning at the Beijing International Christian Fellowship, which is a govt approved church that meets in multiple sites all over Beijing. We sang familiar songs, the service was in English, and our PSU sweatshirts got us noticed by some folks living in Beijing who are originally from Lock Haven. How cool is that?!
The rest of our day consisted of lunch, a trip to the newest jade factory in Beijing (they designed and produced the medals for the 2008 Beijing Olympics), a LOOOOOOONG hike up a portion of the Great Wall of China, dinner, and an acrobatic show.
The food has been interesting and really good, and the people we’re getting to know are all super. We’ll actually be traveling with another family to Guangzhou to pick up our kids tomorrow.
We can hardly wait to meet Annabelle. I can’t believe that the day is actually here. There’s a lot of emotion in our hearts right now! We’ll fly down south to Guangzhou tomorrow morning around 8, where we’ll be met by another guide. At some point tomorrow we’ll finalize the paperwork and get our daughter! Woohoo!!!
We’ve got to get up around 4:30, so I’m headed to bed. Here’s a picture of us on the Great Wall…more to come later.
