Hey folks, thanks for praying! We are still waiting for confirmation about Josie’s passport and approval for Isaac’s visa, but we have been assured that they are both being processed. We’re not out of the woods yet, but we’re close. We have a hard deadline of Wednesday at 5pm to get those documents (at least a confirmation email) from the National Visa Center so that Isaac’s documents can be forwarded on to the Chinese Consulate later this week.
I just finished another round of paperwork, and I’m hopeful that we’re close to the end of filling out forms and answering questions. I appreciate the fact that the powers that be want to make certain that adopted children are headed to homes and families that are prepared and ready. But, man, is there a lot of paperwork. Kim’s done the lion’s share of it, so I should probably buy her flowers. My head is swimming and my eyes are a little buggy from it all!
Kim asked me (just before she headed to bed!) if I ever felt like giving up, if I ever got tired of all the work that goes into adoption.
Not a chance! I believe that this is who God has called us to be, what God has called us to do. And he is gracious and faithful. He gives strength and supplies resources. He never sleeps, he never slumbers*. He is absolutely concerned about the welfare of the millions of children around the world who are without families. He has blessed us with the opportunity to be family to several children. We are open to whatever he has for us!
Thanks for praying with/for us. Please keep asking the Lord to provide!
Here’s a scratchy rendition of an early Take 6 for your listening pleasure!
