I’ve stayed up too late watching the Olympics (or Lympics as Isaac calls them) so here’s a blast of what’s been happening:

Katie Smith update direct from Vince’s email:
1. Katie slept great last night!
2. The pain is under control
3. She is eating solid foods and using the bathroom on her own!!
4. The doctors removed her head wrap this morning. The large incision sight looks good.
5. All signs are pointing to discharge from the hospital tomorrow. A few days earlier than expected!! She will still have a fluid drain in her neck…
6. Dr. Richmon told us this morning that they shocked her nerves during surgery. Her vocal cord nerve responded which means it isn’t completely dead!! There is a chance that over time her vocal cord could come back to life!! This would be a total miracle. Every doctor told us that the vocal cord damage was not reversible! Please pray for life to be fully restored in this nerve!!! They also shocked the nerve that controls her neck/shoulder muscle. In this case neither the nerve or muscle responded, so he doesn’t believe this nerve will recover, but thankfully he isn’t God and we have hope!!

Pastor Dan update:
He’s staying, believes that the Lord has renewed his call to Happy Valley, and is open to one-arm hugs.  The video is here if you missed it, or want to see it again.  It’s about 10 minutes long.  I thought he was gone for sure.  I’m glad he’s staying.  A renewed and recommitted Dan Nold is a dangerous thing to the kingdom of darkness.  As he figures out what his next step in leadership is here, we all have to rise up to that next level.  This could get mighty fun in a short while!

Philippians week #2
The gathering pastors are preaching a series through Philippians.  It’s been fun collaborating, sharing ideas, and seeing the letter to the church at Philippi through the eyes of the the other pastors.  You can find the sermons here if you missed one, or want to hear one of the other pastors.

It’s crazy Olmympic fever here.  Team Sublett is sort of divided along country lines.  Isaac’s going to go nuts when he learns that China won gold in men’s gymnastics.  He’s doing his best to keep his gloating to a minimum.  The medal count is tied at 17, but China’s way ahead in gold medals.  Josie and Isaac have been glued to the tv for a couple of days now.  We may have to create some sort of Team Sublett Olympics down at Spring Creek Park when the dust of the Lympics settles.  Anybody want to help me create some games?
