Although there was only about an inch of snow on the ground at 5:27 when Julie Miller’s automated voice called to inform me of the cancelation of school, it turns out they were right.  We got about 10-12 inches of wonderful powder. It literally snowed all day, and Team Sublett had a blast.  Here are a few of my highlights from the day…

Sadie kicked things off by baking cinnamon buns from scratch–yes, from scratch!  She got up about 7:30, found a recipe on the interwebs, and had them hot out of the oven, complete with a sugary drizzle, when folks started turning up for breakfast.

Team Sublett worship jam.  I invited any and all to meet me in the living room at 12:15–BYOI.  Levi and I pulled out the guitars while Lilly rolled in with the mandolin!  She’s pretty good as long as we stayed in the key of G, and there are limitless possibilities in the key of G.  We rolled off about 45 minutes of singing at the top of our lungs, and had a little bit of a Team Sublett worship service.  And we never even got out of our jammies!

Snow Shovelers Deluxe: When the snow seemed to slow down we decided to clear the driveway.  With 5 of us slinging shovels, the work got handled pretty quickly.  After our driveway was passable we turned our attention next door to Delma’s.  Turns out that neighbor Mike and his snowblower beat us to it, so all we had to do was clear the steps and porch.  That Mike is a good dude…

Our school district has already called a 2 hour delay.  We’re hoping that they get to go to school, because Sadie, Isaac, and Annabelle are in the middle school production of Cinderella, which is supposed to open tomorrow night…
