It’s hard to believe, because he’s fit in so nicely to our family, but today was actually Isaac’s first first day of school with us.  He joined our family last November and from the very first day has made himself at home.  He’s still got a way to go with learning English, but then again, most teenage boys struggle, don’t they?  🙂

We met at the breakfast table this morning to renew our school year tradition of starting the day with reading the Bible (Galatians 1 today) and spending some time praying through the countries listed in Operation World.  If you haven’t checked out that book yet, you really ought to!

In order to get to this point, we (and by “we” I mean Kim!) spent the last week running all over town to secure the gajillion pencils, notebooks, erasers, and the backpacks that they all ride in!  Class schedules have been perused, locker combinations have been memorized, and the paths from classroom to classroom has been walked.

Kim and I spent 20 years doing youth ministry.  Now we have a youth group living in our house!  This morning we sent 3 high schoolers and 3 middle schoolers out the door.  I am excited to see what the year holds for our Team.  I’m sure that there will be tremendous highs, desperate lows, some memorable milestones, and a lot of learning.

Any way it comes, I am pumped to be doing life as Team.
