One of the Team Sublett traditions…gathered around the supper table, each one of us shares a highlight and lowlight (lowlights first, please) from the day. It gives us a chance to hear about each other, to learn some lessons, to reinforce good decisions, to head off any on-coming disasters, and to celebrate victories. We don’t do this every night, but it usually happens once a week or so. Isaac was at a loss for the first few months, but now he’s catching on. He went first tonight (even though he had to ask me if lowlight was good or bad!) and got the ball rolling.

Levi is suffering from PPD (post performance depression), that malady that usually falls after the final curtain of whatever musical he’s just finished. He had a blast with the cast of The Drowsy Chaperone at State High. They always do a great job, and I’m always blown away at the talent of these high school students. Levi even got asked to the prom before Saturday night’s show. I’ll let him tell you the story…

I have no idea how we got there, but I found myself teaching the Chicken Dance to Team Sublett tonight around the table. Isaac thought it was just about the funniest thing ever. I remember seeing people dancing this at the first western Pennsylvania wedding I attended (circa 1990). We didn’t dance at our wedding. Too many of the wedding party were still enrolled in a Bible college that frowned on dancing. Frowned as in Dancing is Illegal. Therefore no dancing…like this sweetness

My buddy Andy and I took some relatively new kayakers out Saturday for the Red Moshannon Downriver Race. It was much warmer this year (19 degrees last year=ice on our gear) but the water level was much lower. Still, we survived, and even got a t-shirt to show for our efforts. Dustin and Christie were great! They also took home some sweet doorprizes. Andy won a bottle of surfboard wax from 1998. Or 1988. It was old…

Anybody interested in learning how to do a little whitewater kayaking? Andy and I usually offer a “how-to” class each spring. Since the weather is warm, we might as well get things started. Let me know…
