Bluegrass fan?  Yes, indeed.  I grew up in the sunny south, spoon fed on southern harmonies.  My Paw Paw was a guitar-picker, and I inherited his love for Appalachian music–and one of his mandolins!  I’m not the picker that he was, but I love to listen and occasionally play a little bluegrass music.

Webster’s Bookstore and Cafe hosted a band from Asheville, NC tonight.  They’re a 4 piece string band called Tar and Rosin.  They played a 2 hour set of crisp Appalachian tunes punctuated by some witty banter with the crowd. Turns out that one of the guys in the band is actually from Boalsburg!

I’m lots of hours and several states away from bluegrass music, but it seems to follow me.  I am grateful to live in such a wonderfully eclectic little town.  Thanks to Elaine and the good folks at Webster’s!
