We’re almost packed and ready to head to the airport.  It’s been a little more involved this time, trying to get all 7 of us packed (44 pound limit to bags, please), passported, and prepared for airport security.  We’ve got everything charging that needs to be charged, backpacks loaded with schoolwork, and hearts that are ready to burst with the anticipation.  But I think we’re close.  Our house may or may not look like a tornado ripped through it…

Kim’s upstairs going over the mountain of paperwork, double and triple-checking everything.  The kids are in bed trying to get a few hours of sleep.  It feels a little bit like the night before Christmas–Mom and Dad are scurrying around while the children are too excited to sleep!

Sadie’s never been on a plane before, and Annabelle tossed her cookies on the last one she rode!  Levi and Lilly are well-seasoned world travelers, having been to the Dominican Republic before.  We’re spread out all over the plane on our first leg of the journey, from Harrisburg to Chicago.  But I got us seated together for the 13 hours over the top of the world to Beijing.

Here’s a question: If the trip to Beijing takes 13 hours, and they’re 13 hours different than us here in PA, how high would we have to go straight up to let the earth rotate under us so that we could descend into Beijing?  Kim’s got her mind on the paperwork, so that leaves me free to contemplate the bigger things like that…

I don’t think you’ll see a post from me until we’re on the ground in Beijing.  So until then, keep your feet on the ground, and keep reaching for the stars…
