Do you mind if I wave the flag of family patriotism?

My brother-in-law, Joe Montgomery (an original Team XStreamer), is in Wichita Falls, TX, learning how to fly fighter jets for the United States Air Force. I come from a military family. I am the first Sublett child to miss military service of some kind. I wanted to attend the United States Air Force Academy, but couldn’t because of my allergies. I am proud of Joe. I pray for him and his fellow airmen, and the countless other military service personnel who are putting their lives on the line. I love our country, and I am fiercely proud of our military. Theirs is not an easy job. Regardless of your view of the potential for war and our country’s political environment, please pray for the people who will be put in harm’s way should war begin. Pray for the families who will send sons and daughters, moms and dads off to serve. Please support the men and women who serve this country, even if you do not support the political decisions.

Pray for our President, for our governmental leaders, for the leaders of the world. Pray for wisdom, for peace, for courage, for integrity, for humility. War is not desirable; neither is terror and tyranny. Pray that the voice of God will be heard, that peace will prevail, and that humanity will learn from this time of trial.
