It’s been brutally cold here for the past couple of days. Night-time temps have been near 0 with the real feel hitting some negative numbers. That’s not normal for here, at least not for any extended period. The arctic blast has been front and center in all the news outlets, and FB friends are pretty quick to point out their disdain for the cold weather.
Take a look at this:
Turns out that ice and snow are no respecters of persons. You think you’ve got it bad? Did you see that lady get slammed by the snow from the snow plow? Or the guys fleeing as a gazillion pounds of snow slid off the roof? I did feel a little sorry for the banjo…
My take-away from that video? It’s always worse somewhere else. When I get a little inward-focused, when I lose perspective, when I start to imagine that the world spins with me at the center, it’s good to remember that it’s not about me, that my circumstances are pretty great, and that I need to be more aware of what others may be going through.
And never carry my banjo without a case. That’s just ridiculous.
