We spent a great afternoon with some fabulous friends today. Levi had to work, so he wasn’t able to join us, but we spent the evening at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park in terrific Tipton, PA. Folks who have a season pass can bring a guest into the park with them every Tuesday at DelGrosso’s. So our friends put their passes together and Team Sublett got to enjoy a day at the park with good people.
We started at the water slides/kiddie pool area, which was wonderful. It took a little while for Charlie to warm up to the idea of being in the big splashy water, but once he got the hang of it, he didn’t want to leave. The rides were fun for the bigger kids but Charlie wasn’t having much fun. Then we got some food into his belly and his whole disposition changed. Who knew that kids get hungry?
While we haven’t previously spent a ton of time with the families we were with today, they both have children in the youth group, and it was fun watching our kids run around the park together. One family has a boy Charlie’s age, and the other loves on Charlie like he’s the Golden Child. I got a chance to spend some good time talking with the other dads, which is highly important to me.
As the once and again youth pastor at Calvary, this was a good day, spending time with some students and their families. As a dad, I got to hang out and ride some cool rides with my kids. And my wife even rode the X-Scream Tower with me! That’s a good day. I’m thankful for thoughtful friends, a wonderful family, and the X-Scream Tower…
