You might not have noticed it, but the calendar tells me that it’s spring. Baseball is back, but it still looks and feels like hockey season outside my window. There were snow flurries today in Happy Valley. While I’d love to be outside playing catch, shooting hoops, or going for a run, this weather simply isn’t playing fair.
Not to be shut down by the lying rodent, Team Sublett has found a way to improvise, overcome, and adapt. We are an elite fighting force, if I do say so myself.
Almost every member of the Team has a device featuring an app called MindFeud. It’s a fun little strategy game–6 different colors, 6 different shapes, play them in rows or columns by color or shape, with multipliers and a bonus for 6 in a row. It’s basically Qwirkle in app form. We’ve got about a hundred different games going between us, and it’s sort of addicting.
As the kids get a little older they’re becoming more adept at strategy games. There was a day when I had to take it easy on them to try to keep them in the running. Now I’m finding that I’ve got to work hard to keep up! Annabelle and Isaac are currently kicking my booty in multiple games…sigh.
What are you doing with your family to create some bonds, to foster relationships? Do you have any games that are working for your fam?
