My lifegroup pulled a fast one on me tonight. They totally caught me off-guard with a little birthday surprise party. There was cake and ice cream, of course. But since I’m not keen on the sweets they went in another direction for me:
Yes, those are chickens with candles burning in place of a birthday cake. Good call, Christie! Kevin was incredible as the host of a fun trivia game. Is it weird that a 3 year old scored more points in the game than most of us adults? I laughed heartily tonight, and loved every minute of our time together, even if I was lousy at the trivia game.
Thanks, my fabulous lifegroup, for the card, the gift cards, the chicken-cake, but most especially for the love. I say it all the time–Wednesday night is a highlight of my week because I get to spend time with you. Thank you for speaking into my life and being part of my family.
Here’s a little snippet from my Bible reading today: O Lord, make me to know my end and what is the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting I am!…And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you. Psalm 39. Do you think that the Lord organizes the LifeJournal reading plan around people’s birthdays?
