It’s just the beginning of the season, but I love it already! Tonight after supper Levi got everybody organized and out the back door for a twilight wiffleball game! There were 5 kids playing ball, and Lilly had Charlie on the trampoline. It was all I could do to get them back inside for some homework & showers.
It’s been fun watching our yard–and our outdoor activities–come back to life. We did a little yard work over the past few days, so the natural thing to do was celebrate with some s’mores. Isaac got to learn how to make and keep a fire going, and he and I stayed out long after the girls had gone inside, just chatting man to man. I hope that’s the first of many fireside chats…
Sunday after church Kim and 3 of the girls celebrated the return of spring with our next door neighbor, Betsy. She’s been a family friend forever (literally–she was at our wedding!) and has really been investing in our family. She reads with Josie, Isaac, and Annabelle, and has been taking one day a week to teach the girls how to cook & bake. Sunday she hosted a tea party for some of her friends, and our girls made the list. We love Betsy, and I guess you could say that she’s adopted us!
