We knew it was coming, and the call at 5:38am confirmed it.  The freezing rain rendered the roads impassable for the big yellow school buses.  I grew up in the sunny south (what’s up Warner Robins?) We only had one snow day in my entire 6th-12th grade run. Of course, my boys and I made the most of it by walking home in the half-inch of ice pellets!

Team Sublett loves a snow day because of all the wonderful things it means to us:
*alarms clocks are off–no exceptions
*breakfast is at 10am sharp
*bacon & pancakes (not as awesome as this, but dad-gum close)

*7 kids + 4 shovels = 1 clean driveway. Charlie hasn’t cracked the starting lineup yet, but I have a pretty deep bench.
*games at the dining room table only stop for supper. (I didn’t like Carcassonne. Annabelle loved it.)

That’s how Team Sublett usually rolls through a snow day. What did you do to pass the time?
