all I want for Christmas

December 4th, 2009 · No Comments

We got a letter from the government of these United States of America yesterday saying that they have forwarded our paperwork to the Chinese Consulate.  The US has approved us to bring our new daughter into America.  Now all we have to do is get China’s approval to take her out of China.  If we get that approval by Dec 16, then we;ll be on a flight out of the US on Dec 24.  That’s right–Christmas Eve!

That actually works out well for our family, aside from the fact that it kind of messes up the traditional “open your presents together on Christmas morning” thing.  We’ve talked to our kids, and they’re pumped about the possibility.  We are so ready for this!

Oh sure, there’s still a list of unanswered questions…the language barrier, her ability to bond with us as a family, how our kids will react to a new sibling…

We did notice that the letter from our govt misspelled our last name–Subleh, instead of Sublett.  Kim’s trying to reach our adoption agency to get that cleared up.

But how cool would it be to have Christmas as the anniversary of Annabelle coming home to be with us?
