I have been blown away at the love and generosity of our friends. I mentioned that we hit a rough patch around the Sublett house in terms of things breaking last week. Frankly, I was a little worried as to how we were going to pay for all the repair bills that were coming. I thought I might have to turn in my “Dave Ramsey Fan Club” membership. But God has surrounded us with friends who stepped in to meet our needs.
Friends, thank you!
It’s more than a little humbling, to be honest. But what an example of the Body of Christ using its resources to meet needs. It makes me more determined than ever to be a need-meeter, to be radically generous.
That was one of the most remarkable parts of the early church–generosity. The book of Acts (4:34) reports that “there were no needy people among them” because the people of the church sold their own stuff to meet the needs of others.
So in the days to come, Kim and I are looking to tighten our belt, take stock of the things we have that we don’t truly need, and start practicing what we’ve received. I have been blessed by the generosity of others; I want to pass that blessing on…
